If You’d Like To Switch Back To The CatchOnTv App 1.6.2
-
If you’re having streaming issues with the new MoaTV app (2.0.9 or 2.0.11) there’s always the option to switch back to the last CatchOnTV app (1.6.2) or (1.6.0) using the Downloader app.
http://aftv.news/4185818 for 1.6.2 is the one to search for and then don’t update the app each time when asked if you’d like to update.
http://aftv.news/8167457 for 1.6.0 is an option if 1.6.2 isn’t performing as it should as some have reported. Again, don’t update the app when asked if you’d like to do so.

Careful. When you do that it lets you watch a show but if you change Chanel and try to go right back it will just spin . Have to wait a few minutes before it will work again on that channel.@homer Thanks for pointing that out. I tried it a bit earlier and it worked perfectly for me, so it might not be suitable for everyone. I’ve noticed several people wanting to revert to the previous version, so this is the correct procedure. A viewer can always uninstall the CatchOn version and reinstall MoaTV version or upgrade every time they’re prompted when they open the CatchOnTV app.

Has anyone been able to keep the old CatchOnTV app working long term?
I reverted led back and it worked fine for one day. Now, nothing will load.

Please make sure your VPN is off when you download a code on the Downloader browser and try and install the app. There’s known issues when you try to do it with a VPN on.
@bhannay It's Downloader app issue. Use a VPN while downloading the app. This should fix the problem.
Yikes! Nothing like directly conflicting info from support!
"You can't use a VPN to download."
"You must use a VPN to download."

@CaboGuy
That could be my mistake with what I posted. Apparently, there’s pros and cons to both practices of leaving on or turning off your VPN when downloading a file to install on your device.@arthur
Please clarify if we should leave the VPN on or turn the VPN off when downloading a CatchONTV app file or MoaTV app file using Downloader. -

I discovered my old Fire TV with 4K Ultra HD (3rd Generation) and deleted all the previous data (apps and settings). Then, I imported my previous settings from my Fire TV Cubes (3rd Generation) data. I reinstalled my VPN and the CatchOnTV app (1.6.2), and it’s working perfectly for me. There’s no buffering, and I can change channels without any errors. I’ll use as many features as possible and report back if there are any issues.

@Raejck
What version of CatchOnTV were you on? 1.6.0, 1.6.2, 1.6.3?
What device are you using it on?
I went back to see if 1.6.2 would work and it did, but then I went back to MoaTV 2.0.11. Working pretty well for me. -
@Hawk Using version 1.6.3 on an ONN device. I deleted and downloaded again today to see if a different result is obtained.
-
@Raejck
Was the 1.6.3 on your Onn device stable for most of the time? Are you using WiFi or an Ethernet cable from a router? -

@Hawk Yes, it was stable using Onn device until it was accidentally updated. Will try and revert again. Everything is being used via wi-fi.
(FYI, I am personally using version 2.0.11 via Onn device and wi-fi with few issues.)
