I reported that I could not get the Texas - Cincinnati MLB game, either via USA major leagues or ppv-sports. With and without a VPN, set to Chicago as instructed.
The response? Please reboot your firestick AND your router. Please uninstall and reinstall the app again - which I already said I have done all of before at least half a dozen times this week!
Meanwhile (as I explained) I have the same model firestick, connected to the same network using the same router and same VPN using the old 1.6.3 and it works just fine! It's not the Firestick, it's not the network and it's not the router! It's your crappy 2.x app! Sorry, but I'm DONE spending 30-60 minutes every time clearing cache, rebooting my firestick, rebooting my router and THEN uninstalling and reinstalling the app! NONE OF THAT EVER FIXES IT, IT JUST WASTES A LOT OF TIME - AGAIN!

Can ANYONE provide an answer of WHY this switch to 2.x was necessary, because it's not working and the old one was just fine!

@CaboGuy 100% spot on. They give the same bullshit speech that Comcast does. Reality is this, their new app sucks and wasn’t tested properly.

I am starting to regret this switch from Apollo. I used to love this app and told everyone about it. This move to change the whole app was the biggest mistake. The bs about changing because of scammers was the biggest mistake. You are about to lose more users with this unreliable and unstable new version!
-
I must be in the minority then because mostly this new app has worked well for me except maybe a glitch or two and when those happened I got onto live chat and they fixed them. If you do a Göögle search on CatchOn there’s a lot of fake ones out there with fake web addresses and a lot of people signed up with them and were scammed. They thought they were on the legit app and they weren’t, making for a lot of unhappy would be customers. Don’t believe me, check out the Reddit section. Did they go about it the right way as far as a roll out? That’s in question, but the image quality of the content is definitely better than it was on live and that might be why there’s buffering at the moment. Better quality of image takes more resources. If one doesn’t want to go through the process of the new app, there’s a way go back to the old app if not satisfied. Live chat is always available and issues with the app can be posted in the category: Apps & Device Support > Troubleshooting.

@Dalton-0 Which device are you using for playing the MoaTV app? Are you hardwired or using WiFi? Have you rebooted your whole system starting at the modem > router > device used for the MoaTV app?

Since I’ve switched over from catchon tv to enterprise MOATV all it does is buffer or kicks you out. I’ve reinstalled, check my Internet (1 gig) and cleared cashes. I’ve chatted with customer support.. I know several people that I are having the same issue with the new enterprise MOATV.. the only way you can get it to work is to reinstall the number 4185818 in the downloader. But then after that, you will always have to cancel the update every time you turn your TV on or it will update to the new app that doesn’t work. FYI.

Hi there,
We hear your frustration loud and clear—and you’re absolutely right to call out the repetition in troubleshooting steps. If you’ve already rebooted, reinstalled, and tested across identical setups (including a working 1.6.3 device on the same network), it’s clear this isn’t an issue on your end.
To address your main question directly:
The transition to the 2.x app was necessary because the older 1.6 platform is built on a legacy system that limits future scalability, content delivery improvements, and integration with newer streaming sources. While 1.6 has been stable, it cannot support the long-term updates and infrastructure changes required to keep the service running and expanding reliably.
That said, what you’re experiencing highlights a very real issue: the 2.x app is not yet fully optimized for all devices—especially Firestick—and that’s on us, not you.
Regarding the specific MLB game issue you mentioned: If a channel or event isn’t loading across multiple sections (USA leagues, PPV, etc.) while working on 1.6, that typically points to a source or integration issue within the new app/backend, not your device, VPN, or connection. Repeating basic troubleshooting in that situation won’t resolve it, and we understand how frustrating that is.
We also acknowledge your feedback about support responses. Recommending the same steps without considering what you’ve already tried is not the experience we want to provide, and we’re actively working to improve how these cases are handled.
Where things stand:
.The 2.x platform is required for future improvements and long-term service stability
.Performance and stream availability issues are still being actively worked on
.Firestick optimization is a known priority
.Your type of feedback is exactly what helps push those fixes forwardWe completely understand your decision to step back rather than continue spending time on repeated troubleshooting that hasn’t helped. That’s fair.
If you decide to check back in later, we’re hopeful you’ll see meaningful improvements as updates continue to roll out. In the meantime, we do appreciate you taking the time to explain your experience in detail—it’s not being ignored.

A couple of years ago I was getting super frustrated using the firestick’s as my streaming devices, so I decided to go with their more powerful model, the Fire TV Cube (2nd & 3rx Generations) that has better processors, storage and performance than the early model Firestick I had. What a difference it made. I think the Firestick’s can show that it has a high speed, but still lack in handling heavy duty content. I have my Cube’s plugged directly into my 6E router that’s set up separately from my own modem. Unless someone gets the optional Ethernet connector to hook into the Firestick dongle they’ll have to go with WiFi and that’s another issue because there can be dropouts or weak signals. I’d suggest getting a heavy duty streaming device to handle all the new content coming out now from the new versions of MoaTV (Troypoint has reviews for those) or stay with the CatchOnTV app 1.6 for now if you want to use the Firestick until they can optimize the service for it as mentioned above. -

And there's ALREADY (reported in Reddit) a fake MOA website scamming people and taking their money. I believe, if I remember correctly, it's moatvapp.com. You most definitely can't solve a problem with fake scam sites simply by changing the name and website. That's just ridiculous to think that is a winning anti-scam strategy, as proven by how quickly a fake scam MOA site has appeared.

You’re absolutely right to be concerned — simply rebranding or changing domains isn’t a real solution to scam sites. Unfortunately, bad actors move fast, and as soon as something gains traction, fake sites start popping up to exploit users.
We take this seriously and are actively working on multiple fronts to combat it, including reporting fraudulent domains, working with hosting providers to get them taken down, and strengthening our official communication channels so users know exactly where to go. But you’re correct — this is an ongoing battle, not a one-time fix.
For everyone’s safety, we strongly recommend:
.Only using links shared through our official app and verified support channels
.Avoiding any third-party sites claiming to sell subscriptions or upgrades
.Double-checking URLs before entering any payment informationIf you come across a suspicious site like the one mentioned, please report it to our support team so we can escalate it immediately.
We appreciate you calling this out — raising awareness like this helps protect the entire community.
