I understand and it is this aspect which is a reduction in functionality compared to earlier functionality

Replay events -
Replay eventsReplay events have been hit and miss in the past. Unfortunately NFL replay games have been 100% in the "miss" category because none of the feeds ever worked. The streams would never start with 100% consistency. A random selection of other sports seemed to work just fine.
The new app seems to have a new approach where games will be available for a week and there is a guide for each sport about which actual games (from previous week) are available on which of the channels for that sport.
So far so good.
The problems is that once you select a replay game to watch you are not getting an on demand viewing of the game like a movie or a series episode, or like the replay event service in previous years. What you are getting is access to the requested game that is being shown on a loop like the WEB TV channel loops. This makes the service almost unwatchable. If I want to watch the Chelsea game from last weekend I may drop into the channel at minute 5 of the game or minute 85, or anywhere in between. At best I would need to figure out where in the loop the current showing is and then how much time i would need add in order to catch a full game on the next loop around.
This is a real reduction in functionality.

Any chance of a DVR feature at some point in the future?Refining the request.
Other IPTV providers seem to offer this feature as a premium tier offering (pay for play). I would be fine with paying more for the feature if the MOA team decides that the effort is worth it.
Alternatively, you could expose APIs that would permit outside developers such as myself to take a crack at developing such an add-on.

Some UK TV channels not workingBBC1, BBC2, BBC3 and ITV1 at least.
Channel shows an initial screen but video never starts.
Have tried location change to UK and other countries using Surfshark VPN without success. Also tried no VPN with the same result.. BBC World news does work so i am assuming that the issue is specific to certain channels.
This is an older issue since well before the new App rollout. At times in the past these channels have worked properly.

Any chance of a DVR feature at some point in the future?I can do it with PLEX but the goal is to be able to say goodbye to Cable subscription. My wife loves her DVR so i am stuck until I can find a way. Other IPTV services have addressed this option and it would be great if the Moa Channel developers could do the same.

Unable to searchNo I am on the new version. I had not re-checked on the Karaoke (removal of those results is a big plus.
The trailing space is still an issue with the new software although the new system showing the exact search in the search bar makes the presence of a trailing space easier to spot (and so less of an issue).

Unable to searchAfter struggling with the search feature I realized that the problem in my case was partially my own problem and also a bug in the way search handles nothing found. If nothing is found the results show no hits plus Karaoke which made it seem like Karaoke results were somehow affecting the search.
In my case i was looking for "Shameless" which when properly entered should show both the UK and US versions of that show. My issue as it turns out was that I must have had either a leading or trailing space which made it seem like there were no hits. Also, having entered the search incorrectly once, "Shameless " showed up in the quick list (without quotes so the presence of a space in the search string was not detectable).
When I ignored the quick list words and reentered "shameless" without the space, the results were as expected.
Recommendation
-
Trim leading and trailing spaces from any search terms before executing the search.
-
Allow searcher to specify a filter on the search to include/exclude Movies/Series/Live TV and Karaoke. Current searches are global or LiveTV global
